First Day of Preschool

Ali was so excited to start school again! She has the same teacher and her best friend, Lillian, is in the same class. It felt weird to drop her off again...the summer went by so quickly. We'll miss her these mornings but she is learning so much! We're so proud of you!

Birthdays

Happy Birthday to me! Chris worked really hard on my cake this year! I loved the house candle touch! Just kidding...but really I got to celebrate when we went to Madison, Wisconsin for a friend's wedding (without the kids!!) Chris and I got to take naps, take walks, go shopping at a leisurely pace, have long dinners...it was SO nice! Thanks to Oma and Opa who drove all the way here so that they could watch and entertain the kids! We love you!

Elizabeth is a year and a half! She has learned how to say "cheese"...she says "eeeeeess" and gives some goofy grins! She is saying a few more words now...she is good at NO and YEAH...she can say "boo" for the color blue so of course that is her favorite color now....she says up and down. She likes to read books about animals, she loves baby dolls (fortunately Ali doesn't prefer dolls so she has given Lizzie all of hers!), she likes to watch Elmo, play with cars and the doll house things. She is a good little girl, listens well, and is so sweet! We love you so much!

Summer Fun

We love corn!! Both of these girls could eat corn on the cob every night and be happy!

Ali and Lizzie's first time at the movie theatre!! There was a free showing of Madagascar 2 and we went with our neighbors. It was fun to be in a real theatre and the girls did great. Lizzie even stayed in my lap the whole movie.

Summer stuff

Just a few more pictures of this summer...Ali is "reading" (she makes up great stories like 'Lulu went to Lulu town. We went to North Carolina but Lulu had to go to Lulu town all by herself.' She is talking about Lizzie aka Lulu who supposedly lives by herself in Lulu town!!) And Lizzie is enjoying books with storylines now...she loves this book from Auntie Erin, "Hug", about a baby monkey who finally finds his mama. She points and says, "Baby", and "Mama" through the whole book!
We need to do this more often...it is so lush and beautiful around us...we need to go hiking more often...the girls really liked walking along the trail as long as I brushed away the cobwebs across the trail first!
Look at Ali's sunflower! She planted the seed in preschool and then we put it in the garden...it just took off and is taller than she is!
We had some frogs stuck in our window well so I caught them in a pail and let them go in the grass. Lizzie LOVED seeing them and she jumps and bounces when we talk about the froggies!

Grandpa & Grandma with their 3 granddaughters...Ali spent the night with her grandparents in their hotel one night and loved it! She got her grandparents all to herself and got to watch TV and eat popcorn.

North Carolina

These girls are such great travelers....really just great girls all around :)!! They just love looking at all the things around them and walking around. It's not that hard to entertain them...it makes going places with them lots of fun!
We love Cousin Nora!! The girls had so much fun playing with Nora! And thanks Uncle Pete for hosting all of us at your home! He didn't know that many people could fit in his place!
