Frontera Grill

Our last night...we went to a comedy show at The Second City and then put our name on the waiting list at Frontera Grill. The chef, Rick Bayless, won the Iron Chef Masters show and his restaurant is SO popular that we waited three and a half hours to eat!! We mostly just walked around the neighborhood and stopped at other restaurants and had lots of drinks while waiting!! SO...I was just a bit drunk when we finally sat down to eat at 9:30pm! (That's why there are so many pictures!!) :) It was wonderful gourmet Mexican food...Chris' mole was amazing!

Chicago here we come!

THANK YOU Grandma and Grandpa for coming to babysit the girls so that we could have a couples weekend!! The girls had lots of things planned for them all to do...go to the Magic House, go play at Rainbow Recreation...and Grandma had lots of cooking plans for the girls like waffles and homemade ice cream!! The girls had a great time...we really appreciate it!!

Chris has been accumulating hotel points this past year and we used them all for a special weekend in Chicago. We decided we would never spend that kind of money on our own so why not use his points to stay at one of the oldest and nicest hotels there?? We LOVED the DRAKE Hotel! It was LUXURY! We had so much fun taking the train there, eating lots and walking lots! And of course, it was SO nice to have so much time to talk (without any interruptions!!) and reconnect again! THANK YOU Chris for working so hard and providing such a nice time for us!!

Lizzie's New Chair

Because she loves Ali's green chair so much, Nana got Lizzie her very own reading chair! Thank you Nana...she loves her new reading nook!

This is her other favorite place in the house...under the table! She puts all of her dolls and stuffed animals under there and makes her own little cave. Whenever I'm looking for her, I can find her under there hiding out!!

Giddyup!

I was getting dinner ready the other night and cut my finger pretty badly (note to self: don't cut carrots without a cutting board!). So, as I was bleeding all over, I laid down on the kitchen floor so I wouldn't pass out and Lizzie comes by, sits down on my tummy, and starts bouncing up and down pretending to ride her "horsey"!! She made me laugh in the midst of my finger crisis!!

End of Summer

Ali is learning to use the computer and the mouse really well now. She goes on the Disney website, signs in, and creates her own fairies all by herself! She likes that she gets to chose the clothes, colors, and accessories for the fairies...then we erases it and creates a different one.
Lizzie is ready for school! She just wants to be exactly like her sister...it is so cute!!

Apple Farm

The farm also had a play area for kids...Lizzie loved the chickens and goats. Ali liked the sand box and slide!

Apple Pickin'!!

We drove about an hour and a half into Illinois to this beautiful apple farm! Quite a ways to go just for apples but it was such a fun experience and so pretty! Ali wasn't too excited about the apples (she only likes appleSAUCE!) but she LOVED the blackberries.

Theatre and Tea for Girls!

What a FUN day! For my birthday, Chris gave me 3 tickets to "Mary Poppins" for Ali, my mom, and me. We went to lunch at a tea house where Ali really liked all of the flowers and little tea pots decorating the room. We had a yummy lunch of quiche, chicken salad sandwiches, strawberry soup, and of course, tea!
The Tea House had a dress up room...Alexandra got to choose our pretty things!
Then it was off to the Fox Theatre...it was a gorgeous old theatre and the Broadway production of "Mary Poppins" was SO great! (It was even super from our seats which were in the very last row!) Ali paid rapt attention the whole time...Mary Poppins even "flew" over the audience!
