I'll miss these guys...

All of our neighbor friends got babysitters and we all went to the local wineries for an afternoon. It's so nice to have such a close group of friends...I'll really miss them.

Basement Sleepovers

So, the girls were begging to sleep in the basement this summer. It must have been because they spent so much time down there this spring with all of the tornado warnings. So, once school was out, we filled up the air mattress and let them sleep together down there. They loved it! They got to play with all of their toys down there before going to sleep and then they would talk together in bed for a while. They really are very good to each other and I love that they love each other so much. We gave them one of the house phones so that they could call the other receiver in our bedroom if they needed anything! So, they spent FOUR nights in a row down there before they started feeling the effects of not enough sleep...and last night they went to sleep quickly before 8pm!

Daddy Daugher Date

Chris took the girls out to a cafe for a brownie and piece of cake while a teenager we know was playing guitar and singing there! The girls liked that she played Taylor Swift songs and loved the sweet treats...as well as spending time with their "Dewey." I'm sure people wonder why our children call us "Mooey" and "Dewey"...I'm sure it all started because we called Lizzie "Lizzie Lou" which then became "Lou Lou" which then became "Louie" so then Ali just started rhyming our names with "Louie" and Mommy became Mooey and Daddy became Dewey. Ali's name does not rhyme as well with Louie...so she gets to stay "Ali"!! :) But anyway...they sure do love their Dewey!! Thank you for being such a good Dad and spending time playing with and talking to our girls everyday! They love it!

2 little campers

Why am I blogging at 5:30am? Well, when you wake up at 4am thinking about how your house isn't selling then what better things are there to do than look at my sweet girls who make me so happy? Last week we went to Girl Scout day camp...Ali got to be with her friend Lillian in her group and loved swimming while I volunteered in Elizabeth's preschool group. It had to be the hottest week on record in Missouri....but we still had fun eating popsicles, making SWAPS, playing with water, AND learning about bandanas! All the older girls were dunking them in water and wearing them in their hair to stay cool...and to LOOK cool! So, Ali and Elizabeth came home and started wearing bandanas around!

All of our gear from camp...I had forgotten how exhausting it is to be away from home all day long...it's been a while since I worked full time!
