Oma & Opa visit!

Oma and her granddaughters...The girls are so happy to have their grandparents here for the weekend...and it's a special weekend too...it's Oma's birthday!!
We visit a pumpkin patch close to our house...we are so excited for Halloween!
Our lil punkins!!
Ali frosts Oma's birthday cupcakes all by herself and puts on LOTS of sprinkles on top!
Happy 58th Birthday Oma!! We love you!

Project Number 2: Trampoline

Thank you to Chris and Opa for all of your hard work...they worked for 7 hours putting Ali's and Lizzie's new trampoline together!! Great job!
Ali made a bed in one of the boxes and Oma read her a story while the guys were working!
Putting up the safety net...almost there!
YAY!! Ali gets to try it out for the first time...Thanks Daddy and Opa!
I love my new trampoline!! Thank you to Nana and Poppa and Great Granny & Grandad for the early Christmas gift...it was nice of you to give it early so we can enjoy it this fall! Look how happy I am!!

Project Number 1: Retaining Wall

Chris has been busy with PROJECTS these past 2 weekends! What a hard worker...his past landscaping summer job gave him lots of experience to do a professional job in our front yard.
Alexandra loved helping with her own pail and shovel.
Raking and filling in the flower bed with dirt...Ali loved this too!
Thanks for helping plant our new plants Oma and Opa!! You didn't know we would put you to work when you came to visit, huh??!!
My hard workers!!

Our fun three year old!

It rained on one of Alexandra's preschool days and she just HAD to wear her rain shoes...doesn't she look so cute? When she comes home from preschool she will start singing songs, pretend she is her teacher and say, "1,2,3 Eyes on me!", tell me to come sit down for circle time, and tells me which kids wear pull ups!! :) I'm so glad she got to go to preschool this year...she really likes it and I think she is really good at BEING a preschooler!!
She empties her backpack after school and gives us the pictures she has colored for us. Her teacher is great and sends home a note each week telling us which books they are going to be reading and what skills they are working on. I love it!
Being silly with Daddy!
She rode the airplane ride all by herself at the festival in our little town. I'm sure these rides are not the safest in the world...but hey, she got to be a pilot!!
Her favorite...ICE CREAM! Which reminds me...I bought the recipe book "Deceptively Delicious" which gives ideas on how to hide blended up veggies in meals. Since I was blending up veggies for Lizzie's baby food anyway, I've tried to hide some in her spaghetti or pizza or meat loaf which are her FAVORITE foods....I thought I was being so clever and then she says, "I don't like it, it tastes different, what's that GREEN stuff???" Ohhh...you can't get anything by this kid! :)

Elizabeth is 7 months old!

Lizzie is doing great...she is such a good and happy baby! She loves watching her big sister during the day and still giggles at her.... Although she has started to vocally object to the "love" pinches that Ali bestows on her! She has started saying "Da, da, da!!" (Chris loves this!)
She can't get enough of grabbing things... napkins, toys, paper. She reminded me of Ali the other day when she sat for about 15 minutes playing with measuring cups and bowls while I folded laundry!
She loves peas! And the green face is just too cute!
She is sitting up really well now!!
She likes her exersaucer....hmm for about 2 minutes! Then she says..."No, I'd rather be held thank you very much!" She gives great hugs when I pick her up...she grabs my hair with both hands and buries her head into my shoulder. She also gives me great big juicy kisses on my chin. I love it!!

St. Louis Arch

Here we are at the "Gateway to the West"
We are about to go on a Mississippi Riverboat ride...it was exciting and the arch view was nice...but then we set off on the boat and got to see the "beautiful" river shoreline in all of its' industrial glory!

Nana and Poppa are here!

Poppa and Nana and their granddaughters...We are SOO lucky that they came to visit us! We were so happy to have them here. They got to take Ali to preschool one morning and then we did lots of fun, new St. Louis things like the Botanic Gardens and a boat ride on the Mississippi River!
Our little town had a festival for its' 150th Birthday! Yay...we love our small cute town!

Nana and Poppa in Downtown St. Louis
Our family taking a break with some ice cream...well, Ali finished the whole thing by herself!
